Bubbles Bubble Everywhere

Abby got a bubble machine for her birthday! It has saved my life. Usually during the 4-5:30 hour of the day, the kids are hungry, bored, stir crazy, and plain ANNOYING! Especially lately, because of the rain, they are climbing the walls. Finding some peace and solitude to make dinner is very uncommon. But there is hope!!! My good friend (Tosi) bought an Arial bubble blower and during dinner making time, I simply turn it on and the kids go crazy. They love it! Thanks Tosi. One precaution, the tile floor gets a little slippery...get passed that and your "making dinner-without whiny kids on your legs-" has begun!

Our life is like a bubble: In grand scheme of things, our life is about as long as a life of a bubble. Some lives go with the flow and let the current carry them; others press against the grain to make a stand; some buddy up and try and hang on longer; while others POP and leave a mark. I wonder what kind of bubble I am?--the one thing in common of all bubbles: They die at one point...no matter what. I've never seen an eternal bubble. When your bubble bursts, where will your air go?--just a thought :)

Biggest Muffin Contest

Isaac is super proud of his daddy...and well, all his friends know about it. My best friend's little girl, Lily was sitting on HER daddy's lap and said, "You know what daddy? Isaac's daddy has bigger muffins than you!" This wasn't the first time she has told her daddy that. Oh the things kids say!

ABBY is ONE!

Abby Mae McKee: Definitely Type A personality and ALWAYS in charge. She was crawling at 4 months, walking at 8 months and communicates pretty well for a one year old. She has throwing a fit down perfectly; we have concrete floors, therefore she graciously throws herself down in a tizzy. If she doesn't get her way immediately she screams. If she does get what she wants she screams delightfully. If she is bored she screams. She is going to be a leader-no doubt- She makes us laugh and is really animated. She can keep up with her brother and sister and desperately wants to do what they do. She's been known to escape the back door and be half way to the road before we realize she's out there; eaten dog food, cat food, and any small object lying on the floor (we are still waiting for a brats shoe to pass). She loves to push buttons on the dvd player and routinely gets into trouble. A spanking or time out in her crib doesn't faze her at all...but if you say "NO!" loudly it breaks her heart. She is already our little
"tomboy" and will not keep a bow in her hair, and can throw a ball better than her sister. She only has 5 teeth and could care less about eating. Unless it's grapes, peaches or a lollipop. She can spot those in any hiding place. She sings all the time and can actually stay on pitch with the Little Mermaid song.."ahaaaaahaaaahaaa" She loves to swing and play babies. I still cannot believe she is one. On one hand, it was yesterday I was holding a brand new baby...on the other hand, it feels like she's been a part of us forever. I praise God for my little Abby! May she bless you Father in all she does! Happy Birthday sweetheart.

Preschool Graduation/Promotion

Well, the McKee's stole the show! Isaac graduated (with honors hee hee:) from Preschool and Rhea promoted to K-4! I was cracking up, even though I was conducting the performance and singing in the production myself. Just wanted to share some photos. Here is my "big" kids. The other little girl is Elisabeth. I've babysat (or babysitted) her since she was 18 months old. She and Isaac and Rhea are very close.
Here is Rhea singing her heart out....she was the best
"ABC" singer
I've ever heard!

When the kids walked across the stage to get their "diploma" most of them gave me a hug. Mine gave a FULL BODY hug. Of course he's the class clown and "life of the party" I wonder who he got that from?

The Pastor spoke about the time our kids will be in a classroom vs. the time they spend with mom and dad. It was amazing. The next 12 years our babies will be asleep or influenced by a teacher more than they'll be with us. Imagine putting them in sports, ballet, gymnastics, and all the church activities too. When do we get to influence them? It was very convicting and made me realize I've got to make a conscience effort to spend A LOT of time with my children. They are the future...and I have a hand in the future! Scary.
Couldn't leave out Abby :) I'll have a blog on her birthday...which is TOMORROW!

Tammy-My Beautiful Sister

First of all, thank you to all that "commented" Now I feel like blogging all the time. And I think I might...how about starting with two today! Friday was my baby sister's Birthay. Her name is Tamera DeAnne Grinn "Tammy" She is a life time missionary with Pioneer Bible Translators to Crimea, Ukraine. If you want to know where that is, go to her blog site, she graciously put a map on there to show us "geography-challenged" people out there where she lives. http://www.grinnlife.blogspot.com/

Why am I blogging about my sister? Because I want everyone to know what an inspiration she is. Plus it was her birthday this weekend and she turned the big 30~~

Among a lot of other things, she has given up her life here in the states to minister in a foreign country, totally out of her comfort zone, learning new language-- culture, food, transportation, marketing, and living; and she has done it with a grace and dignity beyond measure.

Tammy never meets a stranger and she never has "no room" or "not enough food" She has such a sweet spirit of finding out what ministers to someone. She is one of very few people I know that truly self-less--always finding out how to bless someone else.

She ministers to orphans on a daily basis, invites perfect strangers to her house, and will give a hearty back rub to anyone who asks. She is truly the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you Tammy for giving us an example of God's intention of serving. You are my angel. If you are interested in supporting her and her husband (which is desparetly needed) contact their forwarding agent: Karen Klein at rskksk@aol.com or Tammy herself: contactus@grinn.org

Thanks for listening!

I LONG for the "comment" number and I get so excited when it's in the 4's or 5's :) So, for all those browsers, click the comment button at the end of the entry here and post a comment! Thanks. Stormy Night

On my way home from church, I realized, "wow, this is no ordinary thunderstorm" Although they said 80 mph winds, they reached over 100 mph. I didn't stop at Walmart and came straight home...good thing. As I was pulling into the drive our grill comes flying right in front of us! (seriously felt like a scene from that tornado movie)...if I was 4 inches further it would've crashed into my van. As I was pulling into the drive way I see our trampoline fly through the air!

All I could think was the entire back of our house is windows! It had to of crashed through. Sure enough was slammed against our back porch with one leg cracking a window. Thank God it was big...or it would've crashed more of the windows.

Our big favorite tree in the front got a blow to it too. Isaac was super sad that his "climbing" tree was damaged--but as you can see it's still climable. Just the two tallest branches were blown down.

All in all, everything worked out. The worst part about it was the power outage. It happened right in the middle of our "show" and--of course at the climax part. To make matters worse, our TIVO is electric, so it didn't record it when the power went out. Sad huh? The kids were fine and probably had their best night sleep. Amazing storm, amazing God who shows the storms where to go.
